Children's and teenagers' classes
Why we are different
Our approach aims at creating a friendly environment where the children play and learn without realising that they are immersed in the French language. To us, there is more to learning a language than learning a series of set phrases. We wish the children to feel safe in a French-speaking environment, to respond naturally to friendly French people, to have fun, to play, to sing, to draw and paint as they would at home or at school!
Structure and content of the workshopsBehind the relaxed and playful atmosphere, there is a carefully designed structure to the workshops. Topics are presented step-by-step while recurring themes reinforce the learning process. We use games to introduce new vocabulary and to fix it in the memory. We also include songs, traditional and modern, but always authentic. The success of these classes comes very much from the commitment and enthusiasm of our team of young teachers. Under the guidance of Adeline, our workshop coordinator, our teachers go to great trouble to prepare motivating classes and it shows in the enjoyment of the children and the satisfaction of parents!
Family classes! The Alliance Française offers courses for the whole family. If you are more comfortable learning with people close to you, this class is for you. You can come at the Alliance or a teacher could come directly at your house. For further information, please contact our Coordinator of the children's and teenagers' classes Adeline Douard at adeline@alliance-cam.co.uk or info@alliance-cam.co.uk Exam PreparationDuring Half-term in February and every Easter we run intensive, small-group classes for students taking the public exams GCSE and A Level. These can be really useful in targeting grammar, the written language and of course listening and speaking, all of which can be a challenge for English-speakers. The resulting boost in confidence can make all the difference in getting a better grade. This year, GCSE and A-level revisions will take place from Tuesday 6 to Friday 9 April. Additionally, we can organise one-to-one classes for exam preparation, at any time and for 5 hours at a minimum. 1 to 1 classes Children getting ready for exams or who want to develop their ability to a high level find they make great progress in our one to one classes with our encouraging and experienced teachers.
